Single No. 1,479

We may not have seen Bonds hit homerun no. 755, or 754, but we were there for a sweet ground ball up the middle. Go Giants!

Hot July Nights

We headed on out to the valley last weekend, to see what we could see and spend some time with family. Gifts were exchanged, drinks were drunk and we all had a good 'ol time. Clint and Alicia got Ad a new Giants hat for his birthday...which he'll get to show off at the game tonight...and for the both of us, a gift certificate to Foreign Cinema. Yipppeee! We watched an exciting movie, Shooter, with Marky Mark, which we highly recommend to anyone who likes the shoot-em-up genre. Sunday, Ad, Lil and Lynn took a walk around the beautiful Caswell State Park and got their feet wet in the cool river. Good times. Can't wait to come down for the hot August nights!

All-Stars in Town

Adam walked over to the Embarcadero during his lunch break and caught a glimpse of the red carpet event. He managed to take some pics of Bonds, Chris Young and Roy Oswalt, among others while they zipped by in their pickups. The best part was when everyone got to boo Dodger pitcher Brad Penny.

The Animal in Right Field

Two games for the price of one! We got to see Rob Schneider and a bunch of other famous people play softball, right after seeing all the up-and-comers play, including Justin Upton. Gavin Newsom made some good defensive plays...Jerry Rice was the MVP...Mike the Plumber, from Desperate Housewives, hit a 3-run homer...Kevin Mitchell hit the longest homerun. All in all it was a great day out at the ballpark!

Lazy Days

Don't you just love the lazy days of Summer? Sun beams, video games and afternoon walks are what it's all about. Later today: Celebrity Softball and The Futures Game. Yaaa!

7-4-7

Our mission this 4th of July was to celebrate Island Style! We set off early in search of all the ingredients for the Blue Hawaiian and Mai Tai drinks we enjoyed so much in Kauai. Safeway had most of the ingredients...but they didn't have the Blue Curacao or Orgeat Syrup that we so needed! So, we hit up Rikkers, George's, Papa's and a couple other liquor stores on the walk home...to no avail. It's kinda scary how many liquor stores there are within just a half dozen blocks of our place! So, we had to break down and make the trip to BevMo...giving up our prized parking spot...which someone pounced on the second we opened the car door. Dolores Park was packed with partiers...with people arriving as early as 10:30am with their picnic baskets. Nuts! Anyhoo...Bevmo had everything else we needed, and with that Adam whipped up some of the finest drinks we've ever had the luxury of sipping! We topped off the night with a trip to the roof for views of about 6 different fireworks shows...then it was time to sing a song and blow a candle out for our birthday cake from Tartine Bakery. Yummy!

Happy Birthday to Adam!

To kick off Adam's birthday celebration, we hit up the Slow Club for a delicious meal and some cocktails. Then, the search was on for a Starbuck's that was still open at 10:30pm. Well, we drove by several that were dark and empty and then came upon a friendly Polk Street neighborhood coffeehouse that was perfect. Very strong americanos...just the ticket! Then we parked the car and sauntered over to the Mission where we first tried our local dive, the 500 Club, which has apparently outgrown it's "dive" status because there wasn't even standing room. We proceeded to Kilowatt, where we found a nice little spot at the end of the bar with a view of the t.v. and Sportscenter. Oh la la! Happy B-day Adam!
