They Partied

After dining at the Dolphin Grill we asked our waitress where a good spot might be to get a drink and hang out. She suggested the Tahiti Nui down the road and were we ever pleased! The first night was an interesting one, with an older lady set up on the stage with a karaoke system, singing all the songs herself. By the end of the night, a couple of the bartenders were taking the mic and belting out some good R&B hits. The whole place joined in when Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody" came on. The second night we had live music and dancing - and the whole place was jumping. Oh, Tahiti Nui! How fun!

They Hiked

A short hike from Jay's place led us to the beautiful Queen's Bath and other breathtaking sights. A certain scary sinkhole provided Gary and Buster with an adventurous jump in the water. The water level would rise about ten feet when a wave came in, only to rapidly empty again, taking whatever was in it down to the bottom. You could only wait until it filled up again to be brought up to air. Scary! You guys are crazy!

They Dined

Poolside baby! We visited the Princeville Hotel and partook in their luxurious Beach Restaurant-i.e. fresh fish and cocktails. We took a stroll down the beach and got our feet wet, still not quite believing we were actually in Kauai. Good times!

They Stayed

Adam and Lilly stayed at the most beautiful, luxurious, amazing place they have ever seen - The Palmwood. It had everything we could ever wish for - from the outdoor shower, to the hammock overlooking a valley, to the beautiful fountain by their private patio - not to mention a delicious breakfast served daily by our host, Eddi. It quickly felt like home and back here in San Francisco we're feeling the pangs of home-sickness.

They Saw

The first stop after our arrival was Jay's beautiful condo...nestled in amongst the greenery and tropical flowers. We came across some local wildlife, a baby gecko, and he was cool. We all crashed out sometime around 2am and were awakened at 5:30am by pounding rain...a spectacle we learned to love. By morning we were ready to take a spin in our convertie and see the sights!

They Came

The gang flew the friendly skies all the way to Kauai last week. With about 10 of us all on the same plane it was good times! Ad and Lil watched some Northern Exposure, Jay and Em played games on the laptop...Gar chewed some gum, Lee wondered why some lady from first class walked all the way to the rear restroom at least four different times, and Clint and Alicia did some reading. Gram, Gramps and Aunt Elvira just took it easy. We all got to enjoy the featured movie "Employee of the Month" and experience a bumpy landing into Lihue. Yaaaa!
