We checked out the cool public library - which has the largest reading room in the nation and a cable-suspended roof - and read up on things to do in Phoenix (only hours before our flight home, oops). But, we did find a cool book that mentioned an artist area only a train ride and several blocks away! First, we decided to ride the rails to the end of the line, which got a little scary and sad. Never have we seen more vacant buildings...it's like a ghost town on some stretches. Then we rode back into town and walked over to Roosevelt Row for our destination: Made. They had great earrings (Lilly got a couple pairs, yay!) and plenty of books perfect for the library! And, small world that it is, the shopkeeper, Christina, is an ex-student of the school where Ad works! So, we had a good 'ol time and made a friend in Phoenix. Wish we got to check the town out more - but there's always next time!
